Pups are full of energy and it has to be channelized properly. Under natural conditions pups grow up with their littermates and they utilize their energy while playing dominance games and other games with them. This is not the case in home conditions the role of littermates has to be taken by children and other family members. Only precaution to be taken is not to be cruel to pet at any time. Some methods of keeping a pup busy are:

1)      Pups can be taken for small walks only after completion of vaccinations otherwise there is serious risk of catching infection. Gradually distance of walk  can be increased

2)      Pups like to chew many objects safe or unsafe, cheap or costly. One can provide them good quality toys. Toys should be large, strong and sturdy so that pup cannot swallow it.

3)      Toys should be changed regularly so those pups do not get bored of them.

4)      Play throw and fetch games with pups.

5)      Avoid or at least limit tug of war game with pups as this may promote aggressive behavior in them.

6)      A pup should be given opportunity to play with other pups and interact with other docile dogs in presence of the owner.
